The Brigade

 

These are active, uniformed first aiders who volunteer to support their communities. The membership structure is hierarchical, with members organised into a defined reporting system. Anyone can join the Brigade movement after completing an advanced first aid course. St John collaborates with various organisations where members can volunteer their services. All volunteer hours are recorded, and members can earn promotions to higher titles, progressing from Ordinary Member to Officer, then Commander, and ultimately to Knight or Dame. Membership in the Brigade offers excellent opportunities for members of the public to learn how to provide valuable service to their communities in various areas. Brigade members participate in different activities to enhance their first aid skills, including sporting events, church gatherings, and musical concerts.
